Hell's CrossroadA Poem by LivenriteTwo best friends fight On the war's battlefield Never losing each other's sight To help another, they would yield One day their luck ran out From the sides bullets flew One began to scream and shout And the other got hit too One nurse heard their cry To the site she began running Unable to let out a sigh For the shock that was coming Looking from face to face One was her beloved brother Wishing this wasn't the case The best friend was her lover The two of them she must save But no time to help them both Save Brother? for all he gave? Or Lover? who held love's oath? Their painful cries she cannot take As she kneels down in between With both their lives at stake She cannot bare the scene So with tears in her eyes She turns her back on one Seeking forgiveness from the skies For what she had just done
