His Little Girl

His Little Girl

A Poem by Livenrite

The beautiful starry sky
reflects on her dress' white
All eyes are turned to her
As she's swaying in the night

Her father cannot believe
his little girl has grown
and how much she matured
a personality of her own

He wishes he didn't have to
But he must let her go
off into the gigantic world
her own seeds to sow

As the groom steps forward
the dad's face as in a trance
Tears streaming down his face
He ends the father daughter dance

Damn depressing poem this one. I really like it.

I can't wait until it's my turn to take someone away from their father. I apprehensively look forward to the day when my own daughter, should I have one, leaves me as well. It's a part of life I dread, but at the same time wouldn't want to miss for anything.
