Survival of the Bravest

Survival of the Bravest

A Poem by Livenrite

Life and its most appreciated calm
Like the lake that glistens
Floating along and enjoying
Giving direction with hand's palm

Rocks begin to obstruct the path
Playing catch with the body
Struggling to take control
To evade the rushing river's wrath

There is no room left to think
The water is moving faster
Survival's all that matters now
Trying not to give up and sink

Head above the water is shown
To enable one glance ahead
Sight of the water just ends
How to prepare for the unknown?

Plunged into the great waterfall
The bottom is nowhere near
But the force is getting stronger
And drowns the desperate crying call

In the fall's cycle. round and round
Seems as though no way out
Cranking up survival's fight
To ultimately beat the water's pound

Though twisted, broken and swirled
The brave survivor was part of
The great waterfalls heavy impact
That gives maximum power to the world

The style is unique in the way you rhyme the first and fourth lines.I love the way the river comes to life.I could picture her throwing stones at me
