My Lulluby

My Lulluby

A Poem by Livenrite
"

Written in school...A boring speaker is all it takes;)

"

Dearest child of mine

Today is now the past

I am so sorry how time

Goes by so very fast

My hands are tightly bound

I really cannot do much

The great sands do surround

I’m in hourglass’ clutch

But my hopes are very big

For whatever lies ahead

For life’s meaning you’ll dig

On all that’s done and said

And when you feel blue

And stuck in the rubble

I hope you take with you

The strong will to shovel

And while you’re down there

Bring up lots of wealth

Some love and some care

Bring up lots of health

Also some faith and trust

Some peace hope, serenity

Some humor if you must

Some beauty and tranquility

Then gather them together

And bring them back home

Keep them with you forever

And you will never be alone

Using meaning for your task

Give strength to make strong

Enrich others who will ask

And give health to cure the wrong

Teach trust to a deceiver

Love and care to the lost

Give faith to the non-believer

And say that it’s worth the cost

Give lots of peace to war

And serenity to the soldiers

Spread humor that will score

Take stress off their shoulders

To a picture that’s askew

Give it some of your beauty

And tranquility to the few

Who sacrifice all for duty

And to everyone, give hope

When they see no sun ray

Just hold on to that rope

And rise to a better day
