Goodbye, MomA Poem by LivenriteFor those who ever felt the pain of not being wanted enough, good enough, or loved enough, your time will come and your scars will be reminders that not only were you good enough, but you were better!
Coming home from school
My report card in hand I walk over to the pool And over you, I stand "You're blocking the sun Get out of the way" No how are you hun Or how was your day I take a big step back Wanted to give you pride But you tell me how I lack Without even looking inside You say "go do your chores And get your homework done Only bring home high scores" Or "you're getting fat GO RUN!" To please you I do try But you eye me with disdain I never cheat I never lie Do I cause you so much pain? I want you to be my mom Though you couldn't care less Just throw your daily bomb And I will clean up your mess But I cannot keep on trying This cannot be routine My pillows wet from crying When you're inhumanly mean You don't want a daughter You don't want a friend But I'm no value of a quarter This life I live must end As tears drop on my letter I write to you that I did try But I'm worth something better So mom? I love you. Goodbye
