Rage

Rage

A Poem by olivia

What does rage feel like?

A question I may never be able to answer

I can imagine it

The fire flaring from deep within you

Climbing its way up your body

Sitting harshly on your throat

Until it rises to your face

Red hot with anger

Complete unadulterated fury

The lighting strikes

Fast and unforgiving

With a low mean hiss

Leaving burn wounds on the trees

The rain gently washing away the pain

Is that what it feels like?

I may never know

I never can bring myself to that place

My rage is full of tears and pain

No violence

Just sadness

If a spark of anger flares in my body

Its quickly washed away with the sorrow

Drowned with my sobs

I’m not completely sure which one is better

Rage or sorrow?

Anger or pain?

Screaming or tears?

I don’t know

I may never know
