Kitchen Sink

The kitchen flooded last night

The sink wouldn’t stop overflowing

The faucet wouldn’t turn off

The pipes were choking and spitting

The floor slick with salty water

No matter how much I tried

It wouldn’t stop

The water just kept on rising

Inch by inch

Until I drowned
