Withdrawl

A Poem by liv
"

I miss you

"
your voice was my non-smokers nicotine
saving me when i was drowning in reality
but now that its been so long since I've last heard it
I can't help but to gasp for air hoping you'll hear me
the last words you said to me echoing in the back of my head
my last drops of oxygen

Missing someone you gave yourself to emotionally creates such a good source for poetry.

I love the idea of nicotine, and that need for it. Even though you may not be a smoker, there is no need to say "a non smokers". In this scenario you are the smoker, and this other person is your cigarette. It's okay to realize that love can make you something your not, don't be afraid to go all in on metaphors.

other then that. I like it. It creates a image of you drowning in all these problems and you're trying to grasp for something that isn't there.

Loved it. I like reading things that are short and to the point. This seemed to some up perfectly the notion of needing someone. Thanks for the write :)
