A Year, A Month, A Moment Ago

A Year, A Month, A Moment Ago

A Poem by littlewonders

A moment ago,

She was a stranger,
She was never around anyone,
She ran out the classroom

A moment ago

She transferred schools midway,
I'd see her alone at lunch and her head down on her desk,
I never thought things end up this way,

A year ago, she was just someone at a desk
A month ago, I let everything just be
A moment ago, the teacher had told her she was going home early

A year ago if I had known, I wouldn't know what I would do
A month ago if I had known, I'd still wouldn't know
A moment ago after finding out, could there have been something I could do?

She had lived on the streets, people said
She had run away from her dad, to get away, he was evil, drunk all the time, she had broken a bottle over his head, called the police and successfully ran away
She had been without a real home for a long time
Until today

The only person that would call her home was the person she had run away
Shock and fear lit in her face
And out the door, she ran away

Where did she go
Was she ok
What did we know
Where DID she go?

no one will know...

No one will know
For no one had cared to know
Maybe if we had been told
We might have tried to know
:) just messing around, great poem.
