Rearview Mirror

Rearview Mirror

A Poem by Little Mouse
"

Elephants, mirrors and him, oh my.

"

Elephants are self-aware

It takes them a moment

But eventually they start touching

That bump they always wondered about.

I’d like to start a campaign:

Mirrors for elephants! All of them!

I’m saddened that they don’t have mirrors!

Why don’t they have mirrors?!

Speaking of mirrors,

I found that unmasked man in my rearview mirror…

Perhaps he is behind me now?

Perhaps waiting for me to turn around?

Well…

I’m going to keep driving…

Remember…

I’m on an elephant campaign!

Got something to say?

Perhaps join the parade

In the meantime,

I’ve got a zit to pop.

Little Mouse
National Geographic recently stated (and this was discovered long ago) elephants will recognize themselves without causing themselves harm as well as touch themselves (not the mirror) after a brief moment of realization. -:3 )~~~

This is quite an intriquing write - I agree - mirrors for elephants although they seem to recognize themselves already - wouldn't it be nice if we could all do the same.

"Mirrors for elephants! All of them!"

Heehee! I like the absurdity of the poem. this made me laugh ^^ Although I too found it odd when you go on about elephants and then suddenly go to the topic of an "unmasked man" but overall, the poem made me smile :)

Okay...this one was a bit out there-- I enjoyed the elephant part...but then the rearview mirror thing seemed like such a non-siquitur...I feel like perhaps I'm missing out on something.

I definitely found this intriguing - although I was a bit confused as to the transition from the elephants to the man in the rearview mirror lol. I loved the campaign to bring mirrors to elephants though I suspect they might charge them a few times before they realized they weren't another elephant - leaving glass strewn across the Savannah lol.
