I have a song called Rock n River about love and loss.
The river rushing by, the tearing apart, no clearing in the sky
…the realization of how much One is needed.
During trials we learn the most.
The more I study the clearer things become.
Deep study, swimming in this good stuff!
Revelation 22 hit me like rock.
That said, John said God did not approve of stoning
"Let the one among you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her."
It’s all about forgiveness and love.
This inspired me to join some scriptures together
My initial search brought me to this first set:
The Rock
Job 28:6 “Sapphires come from its rocks”
Psalm 105:41 “He opened the rock, and water gushed out; like a river it flowed in the desert.”
The River
Revelation 22 “And he showed me a pure river of water of life,
Clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.
In the midst of it, and on either side of the river, was the tree of life…”
We are told to give thanks to the Lord
And make known what he has done.
This he has done.
I give thanks to God the Rock
And the lovely river that revealed him to me.
Are you still with me?
My search continued
Is there more to this Rock n River?
The exploration will always continue
But for now it ends here,
Boiling it down to this
So simplified
One after another at that!
I leave you with this:
The Rock:
Job 28:10 “He tunnels through the rock; his eyes see all its treasures.”
The River:
Job 28:11 “He searches the sources of the rivers and brings hidden things to light.”
What does all this mean?
To you it may mean nothing.
But to me it reaches the purpose and depths of my heart.
