Cherry Apple Red Last Straw

Cherry Apple Red Last Straw

A Poem by Little Mouse
"

Jealousy with a cherry on top.

"

Pancakes with whipped cream hearts

My favorite served in bed

As I rub my tired eyes

The sweetness fills my head…

To the contrast of F**K OFF

You treat me sweet

And then so cruel

The heart lovingly shaped with cream

The strawberries cut in two

I tell you what’s on layaway

My cherry apple red guitar

F**K OFF you say

And walk away

In the morning you bring me coffee

I remind you of your last words…

To that you say, correction,

I said F**K YOU!

Eggshells crushing under feet

Bombs ticking under rugs

Seething underneath

You strum

My cherry apple red

Last straw.

p.s. - Please hold the whipped cream.

This poem is sincerely whimsical in relationship, its absolutely abstract,
I loved it, especially the punctuating thought..clever and humorous,
as well as delving, thanks for sharing.

Love this. Bad situation, beautiful outcome (this poem!)
I hate it when scenarios like this occur. Sounds like jealousy to me! : ) Well, I for one am happy you've got a cherry red guitar on layaway!!! Good for you!
