And so it Begins.A Chapter by Hali AbernOne version of this chapter.
So, my sister and I are twins. That's how it all started. Because we can swtich places and nobody would know. I was outside on a normal day, sitting on the red bench I always sit on when I heard my sister yelling.
"Saundra! Saundra! Oh good. It is you. I thought I may be yelling at a complete stranger." She sat down next to me, breathing heavy like she had ran the whole way. She had this huge grin on her face which always meant she had some evil plan she wanted me to participate in. "No." I said simply. "What? Wait, you haven't even heard what I have to say." "I know I don't want to have a part in any of your ideas." "Hey now, this is a very good idea and you have to listen my proposition". She paused for a minute. "I want you to switch places with me. I want you to marry Anthony." You see, Anthony was the man our father arranged for her to marry. Our father and his best friend, Robert made plans for Diana and Anthony to marry quite a while ago. Anthony was Roberts oldest son. I just stared at her for a moment. "You're mad. Now I know for certain I want nothing to do with it. This is crazy, Diana. I thought you were happy with all of this. Anthony is a very nice man." She sighed. "I know he is. And I want to honor fathers wishes but I fell in love. With another man if you haven't guessed.." "Yes, I got that. Who did you fall in love with?" "His name is Stephen and he's the best thing that has happened to me. He has to move, for his job and he wants be to come with him. He proposed, Saundra and I want to say yes." That look in her eyes, she was completely in love. I didn't want to ruin that for her but this idea was absolutley ridiculous. Why would she even suggest this plan to me. She knew I was never one to do anything daring or risky. But sitting there, staring at her I knew what I was going to say already. I was going to marry Anthony and fool everyone as to who I was. © 2012 Hali Abern |
