The Proposal At The Cemetery (Emmi's POV)

The Proposal At The Cemetery (Emmi's POV)

A Chapter by RebelSecrets

"We're here," Jasper declared.
"I'm climbing the tree if you brought me to the cemetery," I told him jokingly.
"Okay," He chuckled.
"I love you," I told him.
"I love you, too," He replied.
"Jasper, I have to tell you something," I told him.
He had a worried look in his eyes.
"What is it?" He asked.
I bit my bottom lip, almost afraid to tell him the good news.
"Jasper, can I tell you a story? It'll be sort of the preamble to the thing I need to tell you," I told him.
"Sure."
I took a deep breath and began:
"Sometimes, I think of the sun and the moon as lovers, who rarely meet always chase and almost always miss one another, but once in awhile, they do catch up, and they kiss, and the world stares in awe of their eclipse."
"What are you trying to say?" Jasper asked tears in his eyes.
"That was a story my mom used to tell me, she said it had been in our family for generations, and I hope it will be in ours. My mom died when I was 6 and my dad when I was 11. I don't want our son or daughter to know what it is like to mourn the death of their parents-"
Realization splashed on his face, "You're pregnant?"
"Yes, and of course you're the father," I told him.
"Yeah, can I ask you something?" He asked me.
"Sure," I replied, the warm breeze lifting my hair as I climbed to the lowest branch on the tree.
"Te casatoresti cu mine?" Will you marry me? I was so surprised he took the time to learn that. He opened a ring box that had a traditional gypsy marrying ring.
I jumped down off the branch, he caught me just in time. We ended up as laughing mess. He laid back, so I could sit on his lap, I kissed him, long and deep.
"I love you," He said.
"I love you, too," I told him.
For awhile, we just laid there. My head on his chest, I could here his pulse getting faster every second we were touching.
"Yes," I said after awhile.
"Huh?"
I sat up. "Yes, I'll marry you."
"Really?"
"Yes, yes, yes," I said. He wrapped me up in his arm and cried. He didn't cry because he was sad, he cried because he loves me and our child.
And that is our love story.
