New Mom (Emmi's POV)

"Okay, so, your sister has petitioned to be removed from your uncle's custody and into the foster care system, one of her conditions is that you come with her," the social worker explained the situation to Jace, Clem wouldn't understand because she is so young. 

"I didn't realize she was so unhappy," Jace remarked.

"I wasn't, but I want a life outside of our community, and I don't see what's wrong with that," I told him. 

"You don't think I want that, of course I do, but I'd rather be in hell than leave you two," Jace said angrily. 

"But this way, we won't have to be apart."

"Fine, we'll go with you, Emmi. I love you, little sister," Jace whispered softly. 

"Clem, come here for a second," I said pulling her into my lap.

"What is it sissy?" She asked slowly. Clem is only six years old, and still has an adorable Romani accent. 

"We are going to a new home," I tried to explain to her. 

"Okay," she said. 

Then, the social worker got a text on her smartphone. 

"We have a potential adoptive family for you guys, wanna check it out?"

We all agreed. 

"This is Amy Rollins, your new foster mom," the social worker introduced. 

"Mrs. Rollins?" 

"Emmi?" 

"You already know each other?' 

"She's my history teacher," I explained. 

"Oh, would you like to be replaced with new foster parents?" the social worker asked. 

I looked at Mrs. Rollins desperate expression. 

"No, this is fine," I told the social worker. 

"Okay, well I have another case to work on so gotta go." 

Then, I got a call. It was Jasper.

"Hey cutie," Jasper said as way of greeting. 

"Hey," I smiled as Mrs. Rollins held the door open for me. 

"Is that your boyfriend?" Clem asked. 

"It better not be," Jace and Mrs. Rollins answered at the same time. 

"Who was that?" Jasper asked.

"Jace, Clem, and Mrs. Rollins," I told him. 

"Mrs. Rollins?" 

"Yeah, she's my new foster mom," I explained. 

"Cool, can I come over?" he asked. 

"Mrs. Rollins?" 

"Amy," she corrected. 

"Sorry, um, can I have a friend over?" I asked. 

"Sure," she replied. 

"She said yes," I told Jasper. 

"Awesome. Be there in 10."
