Gloomy Night

Gloomy Night

A Poem by indu
"

..I am just a sad little thing/

"
The day has found its end
where the birds sleep.
and some where below, noises arise
where the silence dies.

The cars roll out of garages in hurry,
the night has found its prey.
Their horns screech into the room
piercing the usual soap theme-songs.

The fading memories, familiar faces
clouding the thoughts
-the phantoms of my night-
I feel sad, it's that time of the day.

I wonder how many lanes are there,
how many street lights are working.
By the window,
the world is small; very small.

ooooo, this was so beautifully morbid, reminded me of a short story called "the yellow wallpaper" by Charlotte Perkins Gillman!

Well penned. The feeling of deepair is well captured in your words and is brought about by the use of various images of birds and cars. Great write. :)

This is a very nice poem...sad too. I think you did a great job on this. The world is small...it really is...and populations just keep getting bigger and bigger. Thanks for sharing.
