Thirsty for Life

Thirsty for Life

A Poem by indu
"

(for a contest about trees) if ever they could express their thirst..

"

Thirsty, I am

For life.

My woods, Pale.

Shredding away to Ashes to earth

as I pray.

The hardest visitor in the desert;

Thy art I seek.

The drizzles, the puddles of love envisioned

as my branches anticipate you.

The clouds circling my path to heaven

shall hinder my view of sun.

The cold wind

shall touch my peeling skin.

To feel the rush of tiny droplets, on every bit of me,

Flowing through me, filling every hollowness in me

Washing every sin off me, quenching the thirst in me,

Devoting hopes in me, to burst in the shape of green buds.

My oh mirage, in desert sun. sigh!

When the soil delve my way out.

When the pain move to the roots.

My thirst, my life is

to die with me.

Drought seeks relief in the spiritual realm and can only be content with immersion. I think of India and Mother Theresa and the psalms.
