CircumferenceA Poem by C.s. Ambrose LobaitoA surreal love poem of the imagination.
There’s a place where you
& I can dance Far away, on the plateau of misbehave- With a steel rust orange
horizon Trekking jazz-bop &
love.
From here to eternity lies
circumference. On the west ledge of the
shadow’s smile Mushrooms bleed green as
glow-bug ink To incite prairie ghosts
with harmonicas.
The evening creeps in with
her flip-flop Gargoyles- blue-night dashed in azure reels, As the world stands inert to our will Barking colic hymns with
circumference.
The compass points home,
but I will not go. I prefer this vacation of
the imagination. In the fiber-quake woods
you climb Pine while I gnaw on
frozen apples.
Justice braids her purple
bronco’s hair. Divinity dyes the rectangle
stars yolk Yellow for the dense fog
to fertilize The calculator mountains. We make love- in the unbleached sugarcane Then fall asleep in each
other’s arms, Beside an oil-slick lake That has no circumference. © 2017 C.s. Ambrose Lobaito |
