COME BACK TO ME

 

I fell through the empty darkness

wondering when it would stop.

I felt like Alice in her wonderland of weird,

What has happened to me?

Intensely, I examine

 

The pattern that got me here

can I administer my passage out?

I ask, can I trace back my steps,

through the door and down a lane?

Intensely, I examine

 

The hurtful hallows, of chamber of nails

release the horrendous rife from me.

Prisoner of feelings physical and not

the sun is shining out there, I see it.

Intensely, I examine

 

I am reaching and reaching, I aim to feel it,

my dreams put me back there easily.

It will be difficult, but I know I will not stop,

until I am surrounded by the warmth and softness of home.

It seems to me that finding oneself has become a common thread for most people in this day and age. Not that the journey of self discovery has eluded people of past generations, it's just that with the world changing so rapidly, nobody has any sense of grounding anymore. Who am I? Where am I? What am I? There are so few things to relate to, so few people to look up to, and so many violent or indifferent actions being taken by myriad people across the globe that it all go's so far beyond human understanding. I think the only thing I've learned in my struggles to "Find myself," is that the answer isn't a destination, but a constant day to day learning. You're only lost if you stop searching. Keep looking, keep learning, keep growing.
