Poem Perfection Pursuit

Some poets will study for years

to craft the most perfect of poem.

I'm wondering what they could fear

put pen to paper and then write from home.

Words from the heart will endear

like waves crash the shore turn to foam.

His stanzas written will flow like tears

unleashed and free-falling to earth's soft loam.

Some will think all of this quite queer

as Michael Angelo painted a dome

and followed the artistic flow he did hear.

So through life's experience the poet should comb

For when he does this, his perfect poem will be near.

Great advice to any writer (and in terms that any writer ought to understand). There is no perfect poem (perfect book, perfect painting, perfect play). The only thing that makes any creative persuit worthwhile is genuine desire to create, nothing more. You did an excellent job rhyming, this poem has a very classical appeal.
