Sanctuary

Sanctuary

A Poem by Gregory Stires

Here I am again,

In my sanctuary the forest,

Its serene and beautiful presence

Calms me and brings a smile to my face,

Escaping the arguments and yelling in my home,

The yelling caused by foolish things,

Hating the pain it causes me

For their negativity pierces my head like an arrow,

Wishing for the cycle of yelling to stop and maybe

Harmonia may bring peace to cease the yelling,

Or maybe Eris will continue her onslaught of discord

Upon thy family whom always argue and yell,

The earth holds me in her grasp with her calming energy

Holding me like a mother and her child,

For I know the forest will always be there for me to escape to with

Open arms.
