a poem dedicated to the nine muses who goddesses of inspiration as well as science,arts, and literature

The nine Muses,

Daughters of Zeus
Who laid with for nine nights with
Mnemosyne the titianess of memory,

Their home was Mount Helicon,

Calliope the writer of epic poems
Who is shown holding a writing tablet,

Clio muse who records history in her scrolls,

Erato the love poet who is seen
Playing a cithras,

Euterpe the lyric poet who plays the
Aulos,

Mempomene the muse of tragedy who wears
A tragic mask,

Polyhymnia the muse of hymns who were a
Veil,

Thalia the muse of mirth
Who wears a comic mask,

Urania the astronomer who
Holds a celestial globe,

They who are companions of Apollo who also
leads them in song and
dance,

The nine Muses who are goddesses and personifcations
Of inspiration,literature science
And the arts.
