all of these fond memories

a reality becomes this

rehearsed elaborately

funneled internally

deeply concentrated

further 

into future encoding failures

used against thyself

our malleability of memory

forming newer now empty shells

 

very elaborately decorated 

 

deeply at first

then,

 

eventually,

 

infinitely devoid of nuance

now a shape without form

the light shifts

the shadow changes

into rage without anger

letters without words

a fundamentally confused

human, but not a person

memory

devoid of meaning,

the nightmare without the dream
