cosmic purgatory

because you could not let go

it's your anchor of control

it slows us down more

and more

it sinks us deeper

it makes us colder

it breaks into us

freezes us slowly 

what once was our lake of fire

now becomes this river of ice

flowing into that pit of despair

all because no one really lets go

...so our shadow remains cold

the others' never welcomed home

there is only half a story told

and the ending remains always in control
