Desire to Survive

our deep desire to believe

it does not for us create truth

that extreme need to be believed

it will not for us create honesty

all our hopes, all our dreams

they are not at all what we think

no, the ultimate truth is honestly

very probably a lie

though, the truth it still survives

for as long as we try

as long as we try to disprove the lie

and through our deep desire to survive

we will believe this is true

for as long as we can

we will believe something is true

for as long as we can until it kills us

if it can

There are those who will go to their grave denying real truths. They have somehow convinced themselves to believe in lies. Personally I don't care how ugly the truth may be, I will live my life in truth, I refuse to live a life of lies

Thank you for the review.

I think as long as there are things to be described by things that can describe them, there will be lies. Current perception seems to be an evolved fantasy to keep us going indef, the real truth would probably be too depressing... people might stop trying. It gets cold out here without the shared fantasy.
