That is what I understood from this wise poem.

Experience provides the seed for our personality. It's why we must be nice to our children, if we seed them with discontent they will adapt to reality in a cynical, sometimes dysfunctional way.

Plant good memories in a child, and the odds of a good adult growing up are exponentially more likely.

It's not that simple of course but... it plays a very large role.
