The Mind of a Mirror

a selective perception 

a perceptual set

an intellectual schema

 

turning people into objects

 into action reflections

...observing these things

 consuming the reflection

performing my role

shaping the light, making a face for the crowd...

to keep them in place

  so as to supply me a fix

to feed the people some dreams  

 so as to make them my things

 

over and over

the light it goes on

and the mirror is full once again

and again and again

the light will go off 

the mirror will empty eventually

over and over

again and again

the mirror the mirror

Personally I try to avoid them. The reflection does not match the person inside me anymore. Also, it’s funny but we will never be able to truly see ourselves as others do. We only see what the mirror allows us to see. I really enjoyed this write!

Thank you dara. As I've gotten older I have also noticed how the reflection doesn't anymore and maybe never did match what is inside. I feel bad for generations growing up on social media, it has become a strange playground of dysfunctional reflections.
