Nothing is indeed very strong. We can never think about nothing. It is hard, it needs a lot of practice and meditation to even sit calm with nothing going in this head. It's always a rumbling mess. But the one who learns that nothingness and nothing to loose and nothing to gain. It is said that even if the man becomes happiest person, it won't last long and if hypothetically it happens the man would itself get tired of always being happy. Being happy was never our destination. Being at peace while having not a single particle on our side yet very calm and stable is something we need to achieve.
I like this very much. It really takes me to a whole different chain of thoughts.

I try not to measure up at all when I can (sometimes unfortunately we all have to) because I know it's fleeting to feel either inadequate or superior... no one really is "the one" which is I think the point of most religious texts if you look close enough. The idea of God is an ideal, never to be attained... just like nothing, it only exists if we believe it exists (which makes it's existence causally irrelevant... i.d. it's not irrational to believe in God even if it doesn't tangibly exist.

Actually the mention of God that you made, I was going to do it, but I thought maybe you won't be inclined to that idea but now as you mentioned it, I do believe in God and the religion I belong to has a complete concept of nothingness, Infact there is a whole sect of people having a full length book on nothingness is somehow everywhere. I can mention you the book if you want and you can read it's translation, however it is a bit complicated and advanced to understand for the first time or for a beginner. You might wanna look for some guides to understand that but it is a life changer and complete guide to live a advanced life with your higher self in nothingness while still in the world. It is one of our scriptures so no cap.

The gita (as it is)... best religious text in the history of mankind (as far as I'm concerned)
Davidgeo,
One of the most amazing studies I've done of late concerns the scientific nature of "nothing..." It all began when I was thinking of God and Creation... I mean so there is this Conscious Entity, bored out of his mind who decides to create... THE WHOLE UNIVERSE! I just wondered where Creator thought it would go? I mean wasn't there a need to first create an infinite amount of NIOTHING as pace to put it all?
