Believe In Empathy

it doesn't have to be pretty

i am not afraid to be alone

i'm just scared there really is no one

though, i am not usually afraid to be scared

i am still terrified there's nothing there

   everywhere 

underneath the veneer

all of us alone together in a living nightmare

looking for the same things with different faces

more meat traversing more rock

forever, always in this together

stronger with empathy

loving even your enemy

with a caregiver mentality

and there's the hope, exclusive to some human's...

now even alone we are always together

why no one should ever be afraid to feel scared

 if only to prove there is indeed... nothing there

Something will always be here

No one is ever truly alone

A most unique presentation of contemplatively meditative philosophical thoughts pondered by all Man's Humanity from time to time, to day in and day out, though we feign strength that is never there in order to appear brave before our very fears ... Man is, by Nature, a communal creature in need solace of security of the presence of others, whether it be that of partaking of meals, group worship, festivities, and that plague of Wars always fought in the name of God, Country, and that elusive illusion of Freedom's Liberty never to be held in hand of any earthly man controlled and ruled by governments ... The very term, the masses, mass hysteria, mass hallucination, and mind of the masses, denotes the truth bearing concept that, regardless of all the evils that men do, we are genetically inclined to live and operate within that comfort zone of seeking comfort and security in the company of others as friends, family, enemies, or brothers ... Very inspiring piece of Poetry, here ...

The human species is what it is because of empathy in my opinion. I'm not religious but I identify with the Jesus story because I believe the point of religion is in there, sacrifice something important for gains you will never experience. Obviously we're not all nailing ourselves to a cross but, in a little ways, in the little things we do for each other in society that maybe we wouldn't do if we were wild animals.... that's what "god" is to me.

So, you are somewhat of a Humanist? If so, I would have no problem with that as I am a fan of all Mankind's Humanity, as one who does not support Organized Religion and its God(s) and teachings, but does advocate that some thing of some where of some how ( I refer to such a notion as An Ultimate It, a Primal Source, A Generative Source, or An Extant Catalyst Reactant Ultimate Source Point Of Origin Of All Existence) brought all we see as our Universe of existence into reality of being. I am not a Creationist, per se, I do lean towards the notion of Intelligent Design that is in no way personal, or is so small that it will melt and cry or snuff us out if we fail to believe that It exists ... I might be categorized as an Intelligent Design Free Thinking Agnostic Atheist ... LOL! What a mouthful that is ... Nice to meet you here on WC ... Enjoyed your thinking ...

I'm an apatheist. I don't find the ultimate question to be relevant one way or the other. Morality exists whether I believe in it or not. God or not, I choose not to be an a*****e to people because I'm not an a*****e.

I have no problem there at all ... I view moral issues, as laws, statutes, etc., that concern Man's Humanity as Societally derived and approved or disapproved, depending upon the culture. For some things that are acceptable in one culture are frowned at as not so good in others ... Very nice to meet you, and no offense of any kind was/is intended, ever ... Take care ...

Empathy is the key to the future of our species. The old logic of "eating the other to be better" is going to lead to a pretty desperate situation eventually. I just hope I'm dead before it happens. (no one dies, we just get recycled, there is only one consciousness staring through different eyes.... ha.. if that's the truth, this is hell and we are the devil)

While I don't love being alone I do prefer it to being together with someone I feel alone with. No one should ever feel guilty about choosing a single life, not all of us are lucky enough to meet the right people or be perfectly adapted socially. Some of us are actually doing the world a favor by choosing a single life/casual dating life. I've seen some pretty awful people come to terms with themselves and choose to be single for the benefit of the species.

And honestly, I was just talking about this earlier today, people are a lot more unique and similar to you than you think, and they think they're less inept than you are. Everyone is too concerned about themselves to think too critically of you. So if we can put our pride aside just a bit, we can connect.

I like to think that everyone of us lives out a "main charachter fantasy" for a living. How seriously you take your fantasy determines how insufferable you are to me personally.

I love that term because, no matter the context, everyone knows what that means and how that feels. It is a conscious decision to be inclusive and humble, and those are the people I leave space in my life for.
