This is one of those where you wish it was longer but then again, making it longer very well might ruin it.
It's perfect the way it is. Yet another that is very relatable to me.
I love that two short and simple lines can have such a strong effect on me. It's short, simple, and to the point, and the point definitely hits me.
Can be applied to both the living and the dead, for me though it would be those that have passed in recent years, mum and Deb, both sorely missed and will always be.
Hope you are keeping well Dave.

I wrote this to be universally applied to good and bad things but what inspired it was the same things... devastating personal loss. I might have this engraved on my tombstone if I get one.
The title is so strong here in a piece of very meaningful brevity. I pondered on many scenarios. In particular, health situations. There are times when less is more. A saying I understand.

I think everyone past a certain age will identify with this poem. There will be very important things, good and bad, that get lost forever before everyone of us gets lost ourself. Most of us deal with this reality poorly in America... it's why the "mid life crisis" is mostly an American phenomenon. We repress these facts and then they hit us like a ton of bricks in ur 40s and 50's. ha... I love this place.

It's a thought I've been applying to certain awfulness and various tragedy over the years. It's a line I've been whispering to myself for various reasons for a very long time. It felt good to articulate it outside of my head.
