Emotional Desert

Emotional Desert

A Poem by Davidgeo
"

.

"
raining wine
and tears of hollowed out regret
with nothing real now left to feel
 all now that is sought
it feels like nothing

so you seek
for something
and you find
all these things
but you cannot hold on

to what is nothing

in this desert
where nothing quenches
but the thirst
you search
for the thing you've never had
looking with eyes you cannot see with
where this time
it can take forever
like the last time
until the thing you find
reminds you of another ending
every time always 'worth' abandoning
just in time to start over
again

again
it begins
never ending

so it goes
stuck in the middle
in between
as it was
and as it will be
wandering deserted
truly numb to the heat
of this desert of the present

hollowing out a shell for yourself
to crawl into and live
off the nothing
and whats left of those salty tears
stimulating the regret
simulating more anger
hoping to rediscover
hope of any kind
looking for anything
resembling a feeling
combing through the memories
fading the past into distortion
losing yourself
killing what's left

re birthing a monster

no longer thirsty
now made for this place
this emotional desert
where happiness always lives off the misery

... and baby doll, it's always free
but still expensive; something worthless
yet somehow, still delicious

i pray for a rain
not born of tears
