Wow. This is quite something. One person’s selfless love for another is also the cause of their own personal pain. A sad state of affairs. Felt the depth of loss here. Very nicely conveyed.

Sometimes loving someone too much or being loved by someone else too much or especially being in love together with someone or something too much... can only end in tragedy. Too much of anything can be a very bad thing, especially romance.

They say true love is hard work. I think the Greeks were dramatizing this with all their greatest love stories and myths always being tragic in some fashion or another. They just couldn't resist spicing it all up with a little extreme tragedy or one weird taboo behavior or another.
