The only thing I think I'm sure of(how's that statement for hedging my bets?)is that-was there ever a day without a yesterday-I'd have to say yes, the day I was born was my first day, so I didn't have a yesterday and no one knows if there's anything after we are gone. It's difficult for me to comprehend nothingness but anything and nothing is possible.

It's pretty bleak looking at it like that.
Expecting something upon the threat of nothing, well.... that's no fun.
So true, there is not an individual yesterday, today or tomorrow... After some time they only merge as a past or when they are untouched they appear as future.. So they are correlated.. I enjoyed this write very much
As has long been said, time waits for no one. Enjoy the now, for soon it will slip into the past and be nothing.

Good afternoon young fella :)
I tend to spend most of my time thinking about what has gone before, who has gone before. Very seldom do I think about what's to come, although that being said I think of what the future holds for my daughter, martiage, kids and all of that stuff.
Hope you are keeping well Dave

I find it to be less terrifying when I think about the future and eternity and whether things are finite or infinite and all that jazz when it's not just focused on my own mortality and beginning's. The feeling of purpose is greatly enhanced when we are close to other human beings. Loneliness is a terrifying circumstance to think about our ultimate beginning's and ending's in.
I hope you are keeping healthy these days.... don't forget to take your vitamins

So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom. Psalm 90:12
I am thankful for the days when there is a tomorrow and a yesterday. One day there won't be anything. Just lost my brother in law to covid. Still thinking about his loss. This little poem says a lot.

One day there won't be anything. It's in our thoughts and memories both good and bad that keep things alive and existing while our bodies and the world around us holds out against the harsh realities of natural decline at the hands of time. Never forget and never stop thinking for as long as you can as no one is really completely gone if you can remember them.
A clever twisting of words here, to not fear and dare to compare the present we revere with the past that can't last is the mark of a great wordsmith... Splurd...blith... (Kind of lost the rhyme there, they can't all be brilliant). Good poem though.

This is true.
I guess we are fortunate to ponder such things

Although some people are quite terrified by these types of questions and I can't really blame them. I think religion is good for alleviating that terror in most cases.
