I'm sure I'm aware.

violence is not a story telling device
a broken body is not what you should hear

when i say to you,

the same is wrong

maybe things that need to be said...

like,

it's time to change,

    they don't get said enough

and it should not have to hurt
  it should not have to
to say obvious things
in non obvious ways

I've always felt it best to lead by example but sadly many who are considered leaders are not setting good examples.

I disagree. Leaders are everywhere. As are followers.
They're just not always "good" leaders with the right motivation.
