Some Debts

Some Debts

A Poem by Davidgeo
"

.

"
This we must never forget. . .
That right now it is here for right now
That right then, it will be for right then
That each and everyday tomorrow
Will only ever be the sum of today
As surely as tonight is the end of the day
You will breath for as long as it takes
You will eat but not always rare steaks
You will love but not always be loved
You will hate but not always be right
You will live and then one day you'll die
And some will cheer but still other's will cry
That in life this we must never forget
That with death is how we pay off some debts
And in life sometimes all you get is regret

"you will hate but not always be right" - this struck a chord. We do spend a lot of our lives hating people, don't we? Most of us secretly regret it, but would never admit.
Indeed, only death can pay off some debts.
