The Light We'll See

The Light We'll See

A Poem by Davidgeo
"

Dominating
The inequality
I made equal
A star shines for me
Frustrating
This causality
That the earth she did sing for me
Calculating
All the mass
This f*****g place, she makes no sense to me
In captivating
All the you and me
From the minds we've seen
I learn more from all the things not me
Alternating
In the in betweens
These are the same things we breath
Emancipating
All the evil things
This world its rarely friends with me
Ice skating
On the fate we made
I will see you when the cold takes hold
Hesitating
At the gates of ends
We will share what did bring us here
Commemorating
All the blood we lost
Commiserating
All the things we left
Articulating
All the things we feared
Into one light we'll see
And We shall find release
Before we die that day
Before we live forever
Reverberating
Until there is no sea

This work is not connected to any particular religious body, but for some reason it reminds me of the Christian book of Revelation. The last line, "Until there is no more sea," is very close to a line from Revelation 21, which is concerned with a new heaven and a new earth, and the emergence of the New Jerusalem. In other words, the final triumph of good over evil. The poem itself seems to have a similar theme. The poet acknowledges the sufferings of the past while declaring that in the end, they will not matter. We will live forever in the one light. An uplifting piece.
