I really love this write, Dave. It is most thought provoking like so many of your poems and it also has wonderful rhythm to it almost like a chant. The words are very poignant and one finishes reading knowing that there are still so many questions left unanswered but out of our control so no need to stress over it.

But if they do, they'll go to Heaven. Since you are a logical man, it's unlikely you'll believe that, but I also believe in angels and demons, good and evil, and stuff like that. Of course, I'm a Christian so that's understandable. In my belief system, there is life after death if one is saved by the blood of Jesus Christ, and death after death if they are not. That's my take on it.

I will never lean towards it but it doesn't mean it can't be there. We don't know... we can't know. Just because I don't believe doesn't mean I can't conceive of it being true. That's the wonderful and terrifying thing about living, the end is always going to be surprising.

In short, there are two lenses thorugh which one can see the world: the physical (where we are now), and the spiritual (where we will be at the end of our lives). But I do hope one day you will believe as I do. It's not impossible. :)

First off nice with the Hellraiser " Taste our pleasures! No tears, please. It's a waste of good suffering." existential crisis questioning the very cocoon that filters our your eyes of observation through wavelengths accommodating each other by emotions not at war but a quiet war with oneself. The line " The real seen simply through a shadow
We can never know all the colors of this universe
We can never see what it is we really are." reminds me of Marcus Aurelius said once " Carried through existence as through rushing rapids." sincerely your friend in writing and life
I do respect your point of view. If you will allow me to share mine, let me share you this.
"And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment" (Hebrews 9:27) There is life after death, there is heaven and hell.
