I like to say hope for the best, prepare for the worst. I think there is equal value in both remembering and thinking, seeing the good and the bad. The tricky part is not focusing more on one or another. If we see the good, but remember the bad, it helps us appreciate more that which we have good and if we think, will keep us from repeating the mistakes that led to the bad.
You've shared a piece of wisdom here that, if we are thinkers, we will use to our advantage.

Agreed, I live an hour outside of the city and it's still too crowded for me.
If only to think and not remember, or to remember
to think ... there, real and unreal are the same.
The human as author thinks too much, or remembers
what they were thinking ... myth?
I'm skeptical of my thoughts ...
because to remember is a heavy load.
I think you have to dig deeper to find the good that is there, especially nowadays. However it is there if you choose to look. You don't have to search far to see what's bad, we appear to be surrounded by it. The art is trying to get a balanced perspective and not be weighed down by the negatives. So I guess you need to remember that and think to look more positively. Does that sound like garbage?

It takes more effort to think than it does to just react. That's why we have to remind ourselves to think about the "why" behind the things we are doing. It's how we evolve our thought and brains instead of just our bodies... it's how we became "indoor humans" and developed culture. Probably.
What I got from this was that we remember something how we want to remember it but when we really think about that moment, it might be different. Like when a group of people remember the same memory different.
It made me think and I really enjoyed it.

We all know that nuclear weapons are incredibly powerful... but most of us don't know why. It's why we have to attach financial punishment to low level crimes... most people don't think about the bigger picture just their immediate situation. I'm glad you liked it. It's an important message for every single one of us to think about.

"if you learn to see the good
before you see what's wrong"......love those lines.
my grandfather we lived with all my life said to me from an early age,
treat people how you would like to be treated and always see the good in people, not the bad.

Being critical has it's place, but if it's always where you go first it's going to turn you into a complete and total a*****e if you're not one already.
What I have taken from this is:
Remembering requires feelings and emotions. Even cells within the human body can remember certain events, feelings, reactions, like when you had the flu or chicken pox. " Memory cells ".
Thinking does not require emotions or feelings, kind of like a calculator. It is more calculating and goal oriented, but can also be about a time that has passed by.....
and in that, one can think about how a situation may have a different outcome than the previous attempt.
I like to say hope for the best, prepare for the worst. I think there is equal value in both remembering and thinking, seeing the good and the bad.
