I Hate Memorial Day

Life is meaningless without death, we have to accept that as a fact of existence.

But it never doesn't feel like s**t when it happens to someone near to you.

I don't like memorial day very much, but I think it's far more important than veterans day.

For the soldier the loss of those who you trusted with your life is remembered daily.

Memorial Day has turned into the opening of lake living. I am not a fan of that.

I grew up in the American Legion & have deep feelings for this day and have lost loved ones. This day is more than honoring the fallen but showing respect and love for the families who have suffered the loss
Because for families of the military it is by grace our sons, daughters, brothers and fathers, have come home.

Today is a day to remember the cost of what it takes to celebrate this day in relative peace. It was never free and it never will be to have this place as we have it today. The unseen cost will always be tragic... it is our duty now to make it worth it. Never waste the day if you can help it.

A lot of people lie about their military service on this site, it's actually one of the reasons I came here in the first place... but that's a different list for a different day.
