some will always lack

fighting your shame

with comfortable lies

to the death of the real

for the sake of pure vanity

for a war that's not a war

that turns into a war

that eventually. . . you must explore

until lies are all that's left

until fantasy truly unduly

becomes

their sacred

their precious

their one and only true, reality

　

and so some should be ashamed

but only some can truly be . . .

This one comments on a sad fact of our time. Many are they who seek to spin their lies into truth, such as the internet conspiracy theorists and certain high government officials. In the end, though, lies consume their authors, as Joseph Goebbels learned.

The Nazi's were no fools. Some of the most evil mother fuckers of all time but, Goebbels and Himmler and Eichmann etc., fools they were not. But in my mind they all ultimately took a second place to the peak of what communist Russia was as far as modern history is concerned. Ever since I finished "The Gulag Archipelago" my life has been a little different. It is easily the most disturbing book I've ever read... and it's non-fiction which makes it so very much worse. They were "successful" with their disgusting behavior for decades over much larger scales. The only good thing about Donald Trump is that he's objectively stupid; too stupid to ever truly do any real long term damage.
