The Beginning of Nothing

The Beginning of Nothing

A Poem by Davidgeo
"

the end of everything

"

i do not remember how i got here

and i will not remember how i left

and that,

is why i do not fear death

but that there will be nothing left

from all of me now to feel anything then,

from the beauty of the truly glorious

to the horror of the f*****g terrifying. . .

that we are destined to forget

every single thing ever worth remembering

is one fate far worse than death

to me. . .

              until I forget

It just seems so sad to me, in a way, that we go through and endure so much in this life, as an individual, and all in the end is as nothing. David, your poem brings to mind things worthy thinking about on a higher level, for all of us. Thank you for sharing and the opportunity to comment. Take care my friend :)

"we are flesh prisons for an ego." I can't remember who said it but that quote has been on my brain all day. and I thought I would share it with you because it seems relevant for whatever reason.

This age old discussion is always seen through the lens of this world. from the joys of your life to the
misery of life in Bangladesh. what we do here has meaning here. It is the next place where this world is
irrelevant and our endeavors futile. When you look back at this place you will have seen through both eyes.

Sometimes all you can feel is apathy, knowing that none of this will last.

It all depends on how you interpret time... and pain.
This little poem left its mark on me. A really strong opening, and a very strong finish. The ending left me with feelings of dismay.

Such a beautiful masterpiece highlighting the tragedy of memory, of forgetting or being forgotten which is put in yout work as inevitable and bound to happen. Such a new perspective.
