Oh my god. Intelligent and intuitive writing. We gravitate towards those who clap and cheer for us, not towards who give us a thumb down. It's in our human nature to want to be accepted and praised, even when we don't perform well. Thank you for sharing this powerful poem.

That is true, though, depending upon how much a person needs to be accepted and praised determines if a personality disorder is present. But a person that expects praise even when they don't perform well is not normal and a definite sign of a personality disorder. The "everybody wins a trophy" mentality is counter productive to healthy emotional development as it normalizes distorted expectations and fosters a false sense of self. That's how you get people like Donald Trump.

I think this talks about how we take in criticism. Most people tend to stop trying once they are criticized. Then again this piece could talk about how something can be constantly developed even when seen perfect.
