Who wants to live forever? Not me, although the sentiment expressed in your lines is well meant and received (at least by me). Remember that great Queen song? I do agree though it would be good not to concern ourselves with funerals, farewells are the pits. But living forever, oh my goodness, the boredom of that. I did knock on the door politely before I entered :)

I think the thing I like most about your writing style is that there is a tenderness that can defend itself perfectly. To the extent that it makes me as a reader want to believe in the desire for sympathy while not allowing yourself to fall into sentimentality. And sentimentality is the death of poetry for me, but there is courage to try to write something that is almost in the school of classical romanticism while still using the tool of postmodernism (or at least the vocabulary of irony that it is founded on.) to muscle against the bohemian cliche that romanticism as a mode has fallen into. If I am rambling I apologize, I am just thinking out loud at this point.
I love the sentiment of this. I may not wish to live forever but I do hope that I am remembered, which is almost the same thing.
In a sense our writing and our memories are eternal so perhaps, just perhaps we do live forever.
"I don't wanna live forever ......"(haha, I love dis song)
Well, I guess staying alive forever is quite boring, at a certain age everyone must fly right above...cuz by that time the one is precedent plausiby to every aspect of LIFE....
That's what me thinks!
Anyways, the above flock of words can bolster many ideas. Keep writing! :)

That's easily some of the fakest hip-hop language I've come accross... after reading that bs everything feel's like 1997 all of a sudden.
Stop being a psychopath. Don't you have kids and s**t? What the f**k is wrong with you?
There have been a few times over the years I would have much rather been at the funeral of my old mum than watch the suffering she was going through. Saying that she is okay (ish) at present, touch wood.
Live forever, not me, will hopefully exit stage left, peacefully and quietly, when the grim fella comes a callin'.
Good evening David

Unfortunatly I have to agree. The end isn't always pretty for everyone and it really f****n' sucks when it's a loved one. And the guilt that I'm sure you feel for having thoughts like that are no less difficult. But dont be feel alone, you'd have to be a masochist of phenomenol propertions to not feel that way.
Kevin Spacey turned out to be a real piece of s**t as a human being but his voice over at the end of "American Beauty" is something special I cannot ever forget... (of course he didn't write it but how he reads it is no less important)

(for real though, Spacey turned out to be a total piece of s**t in real life... but I can't deny his already established talents)
Aye, there's lots of skeletons in many a closer waiting to come out and rattle their bones.

Do check out the closing monologue for American Beauty. It's some of the better writing you will find regardless of medium.
As an aside... god damn it Spacey... why'd you have to go all 'aggressive sex offender' on me? I was such a fan, we even shared a fanboy love for Bobbi Darin... now everything's tainted.
