it changed and i didn't

it changed and i didn't

A Poem by Davidgeo
"

.

"
it changed and i didn't
compassion is now different
weakness became virtue
strength into the "jerks" who
must bear all the burden
'for the meek shall inherit the earth'

things changed and i haven't
moral fashion is now beligerent
outrage became currency
social justice an absurdity
of a modern day witch hunt
'guilty until proven innocent'

irrationally to me
my world has moved on
but i didn't with it
as mass mental illness
will never appeal to me

'to be ill adjusted to a deranged world is not a breakdown' - Jeanette Winterson

This is why cats appeal to me big time. They don't a*s-kiss. Mob lynching is never their thing. They rub against people not to show affection but to mark territory. And yes, head butting is a sign of love. :)

Couldn't agree more.
This is quite different from a lot of things on this site. Reminiscent of Kerouac-an beat poetry. But well, your devil may care attitude is rather refreshing.

Best,

Thanks. You're one of the few who would call my attitude refreshing, I appreciate it.
