Lonely Together

mr and mrs monster

we are all of us . . .

we are lonely

even the monster

to the monsters

that haunt all of your dreams. . .

we all of us crave connection

and a purpose beyond the self

even those monsters...

as that it is all of us

one way or another

   in one way or another

we are all of us monsters

that is us, now complicated

    in a vast sea of connections

connected anonymously

unnaturally 

materially

based on vanity

based on ego

we are the monsters...

(they are the monsters?)

pretending friendships with ghosts

trolls, idiots, sympathizers, 

cynics and robots unreal

but none the less

never think for a moment

that you are truly alone

in this world

never think for a moment

that you are something 

inherently repulsive

          pathetically obscure 

or something truly unwanted

for there is always someone out there

living something very similar 

find them, say to them, something like. . .

"we are lonely in common,
 so lets be so together;

     and make that into something"

. . .into something in common

from monster to monster. . .

from the abandoned

the ostracized

the vilified

from the shunned

come with me

let us make this a party

      of anti social behaviors in common

     

come with me

intellectually in person

and bring all of your teeth

then lets have us a party

monster to monster

lonely to lonely
