I am scared to review your writing because you are so caustic and honest, but I find that is also what I love about your writing. so that was the review I guess lol.
also, I like this one quite a lot and am drunk enough to suggest changing the title to logistics are a b***h.
Only because I think it would add depth to the later repetition of save for circumstance.

But it was just that, a suggestion. He reviewed my writing ounce and kind of ripped me a deserved new one. and it inspired me to be better, right or wrong it was just a suggestion. I don't do the circle-jerk style of review anymore I only review things I enjoy or offer constructive criticism, which is all I ask for from any other writer on here. In relation ship to this poem I enjoyed it gave it a perfect score, and offered an alternative title.

Never be scared to speak your mind. Especially here... It's just the internet, so say whatever you like however you'd like to say it. No actual harm can really come to you. A******s who say dickish things online have exactly as much power as you allow them to have. You get to chose how you other's affect you. Which, I know, is a lot easier than it sounds... none the less - it does remain true.

Your title suggestion kinda sucks though, so I'll be sticking with the current one.

And god damn it, I am a f*****g teddy bear. Ever since I slaughtered Teddy Ruxpin and his family in their sleep I've been the acting mother f****n' president of all teddy bears.

(bears are truly vicious violent creatures... and Ruxpin might've been a sex offender to boot)

Look a bit closer. I'm really not as inconsistent as you'd think.

When I asked you to write something intimidating I was thinking more in terms of increasing your self confidence as a writer... as a way to find your voice with confidence. That approach works very well for some.

You're right, none of my work is meant to be intimidating. That's not what we are talking about though.

Sounds like a dream come true. And sometimes among friends that level of closeness is attained. Usually though people 'treat you like you're less than'. Great poem, very positive :)

Because it's 'only sometimes among friends' is kinda why 'others' are treated as 'less than'. It's kind of a conundrum but none the less a reality and quite possibly why we have been so successful as a species - competence attracts competence and only usually likes to be surrounded by competence.

How and why we treat others as we do often times leads back to moral tribalism and intellectual elitism... for good or bad, that pattern is what brought us here.

Agreed, and as much as I'd like to incorporate everyone into one tribe, I understand it's almost impossible. I think your poem speaks the truths of the subconscious, and my qualms with it are merely my conscious refusing to acknowledge its own darkness. But, this is becoming so abstract as to be difficult to comprehend. Let's not complicate things further, I like your poem :)

Morality is a subjective thing. Your question about the 'less-than-competent' is too vague to answer properly. What do you mean by incorporate?

To depart from the essence of this poem, I will say that while everyone of us deserves certain basic rights and basic equalities… but the right to the same things a more competent person has access to that was earned through that their own competence is not among them. It would devalue the concept of competence and nuetralize natural incentives for being successful. This is why socialism never works, and that is why nature culls the weakest of every herd... it is not a pleasant truth but the more stupid things that breed leads to more stupid offspring that leads to even more stupid creatures and so on and so forth. (and no, I am not endorsing eugenics or the compelled sterilization of the incompetant) There is a pretty funny movie called "Idiocricy" you should check out, it tackles that concept pretty well. With respect to morality and it's subjectivity I recommend reading a book called "On The Genealogy of Morals" by Freddy Nietzsche.

By the way, saying "between you and I" in a public internet post is kinda retarded.

Haven't seen that movie in a while. And I'm talking about how the incompetent tend to get excluded from the group in social settings. Sure the competent have access to greater resources, but I believe the incompetent shouldn't be the recipients of all the condescending stares. That's kinda what I meant by incorporating the incompetent. Not leaving them out in the cold. And I'd argue that morality has aspects that are universal, as well as aspects that are relative/subjective. I may actually take you up on that tip to read Freddy's book.

Also, it's a figure of speech. To take my words as being literal, is just as foolish as if I were to say

"No, an extra chromosome is retarded!"

I meant this is just a discourse between you and I.

And you meant that other people are going to see our opinions.
