The Spirit of Terrorism

metaphysically crossing a frontier 

is it terror for the sake of a message

or is the message now the excuse for pure terror

what has martyrdom become now really

pure vengeance as a strategy

or just another strategy for pure vengeance

is it meaning by way of absolute violence

that this is. . .

or absolute violence disguised in a meaning

that we now see. . .

where has your purpose gone William Wallace

what has happened to your intentions Oskar Schindler  

what perversion has taken hold since the clever Sicarii Zealots 

is it really just poison now

       i suppose

so now, the altruistic spirit of terrorism is dead

and right now, the chaos of anger rules in its stead 

now killing and killing and killing some more, all of it

     in the name of pure dread

                   and nothing more

and nothing more
