a good writer is a caricature
of the reality that he runs from

dark eyes
into light ones
dead ends
into learned ones

friend-o

     in great discipline
     and true self
                 immolation

is a secret

           no one's ever seen  
beyond your war machine

     and why you'd die

     for your child

Your poems are a great example of how beautiful free verse poems can be! I think life imitates art, just as much art mimics life. I feel that nothing, not even dying for your children, justifies war, but it is human nature to not be justifiable.

Only sometimes we choose to go to war, like only sometimes we choose to have a baby. None the less, we fight for those 'lives' in the same exact way. (with everything we have... at the very least - everything)
