in the darkness, 

you have found light

from the darkness,

as someone else

as something else

who are you now?

Do we ever know our true selves? "In the darkness, you have found light", surely that is a good thing, especially if it makes a person feel more contented and happy with life. The darkness for me represents depression and unhappiness. It may mean something different to other readers. Good morning from a sunny UK.

Oh my goodness, I love the depth of this poem. The first two couplets snag you right away and suck you into the rest of the piece. Maybe you are accomplishing some great thing you thought you couldn't, or maybe you have done some dark deed you didn't think you had in you. Maybe you've become a better person, or maybe your actions have crossed the proverbial line. In the end though, all that matters is that you stay with the people you love no matter what darkness, light, or personal cost comes with that attachment. That is the crux of it. A mighty and worthy poem, well done!
