Clichéd conceptually and always pandering for popularity

Protesting disingenuously, poisoning minds perpetually

Wow... well, first, that was a lot of the letter "y" in there, and that made this kind of complex to read as it was partnered with a battering ram of bigger words. But I like the way you worded it none the less. While I agree with the opinion I'm also not sure about the second stanza. To me, they aren't bankrupt intellectually. I think that they know full well what they're doing before they set out so that, for me, makes it scarier. The last stanza, when you wrote "And the junk bin of history" really stood out to me because regardless of what happens their name's still aren't remembered for too long after whatever incident was caused.

Thank you for the thoughtful review. Intellectually bankrupt doesn't mean stupid or oblivious in that poem; rather it means that how they rationalize their beliefs and actions has no value beyond destruction and moral enslavement... in my opinion of course.

Religious extremism in the hands of the immoral, desperate and disenfranchised has the potential to become an intellectually bankrupt source of rationality that places little to no value on life that differs from their own. The Islamic religions in particular are most susceptible to this right now. While that may be taboo to say, the Koran spells it out quite clearly... non believers who don't convert (infidels) should be killed. It says as much multiple times throughout the Koran.

Oh, I get it... You're talking about politicians (all parties). This is why I enjoy poetry... Individual interpretation is an enjoyable thing. Clever word choices and rhymes with welcome brevity.

Yeah, you got it about right. Echo chambers and beliefs that cannot change... some groups tie themselves to their ideology so tightly only absolute victory will satisfy them. Compromise and the middle ground are infectious diseases to them.
